With the chosen focus on ' Making peace a way of life' there are a myriad of different events and welcoming gatherings at local Quaker meetings and the national centre, Friends House,in London (opposite Euston Station), which also has a cafe and bookshop. The aims of Inter Faith Week are:
Strengthening good inter faith relations at all levels
Increasing awareness of the different and distinct faith communities in the Uk, in particular celebrating and building on the contribution which their members make to their neighbourhoods and to wider society.
increasing understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs
This international conference aims to stimulate discussion amongst practitioners, service providers, carers, users, policy makers and academics about the impact of religion and belief on professional practice in social work and health and social care.
This conference will be an important part of the project funded by the AHRC/ESRC Religion and Society Programme and will include the launch of photographic exhibition on multi-faith spaces which will then tour the UK before travelling overseas.
On the eve of the Conservative Party national conference, people from around the UK will join Christian Aid, Tearfund and Cafod for a day of learning, campaigning and worship on the issues of climate change and global poverty.
