TOGETHER FOR THE COMMON GOOD: CHRISTIAN COLLABORATION FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE
A conference exploring how faith-based collaboration can work for the common-good

Would you like to explore how different faith communities can collaborate for the common good?
The Together for the Common Good inquiry – a 12-month research process, a major national conference and a book - will take inspiration both from current examples of joint working and the legacy of Bishop David Sheppard and Archbishop Derek Worlock who, with Free Church leaders, stood together with their communities to address key social issues and, along the way, demonstrated that there was more to unite them than to divide them.
Starting from Anglican, Catholic and Free Church social justice traditions to highlight effective strategies for collaboration, T4CG will also learn from examples of interfaith community initiatives. Where people are working together for social justice, we want to look at the factors that make this work.
Research findings will feed into The T4CG conference taking place in Liverpool on 6-8 September 2013, which is set to be an intensive, participative working weekend, bringing together a diverse group of delegates at the forefront of their respective fields. Confirmed speakers include Archbishop Bernard Longley, Lord Maurice Glasman, Phillip Blond, Revd Ruth Gee, Claire Dove, Clifford Longley, Max Steinberg, Dame Mary Tanner, John Battle, Frank Field, Bernadette Farrell, Bishop David Hamid, Pat Jones, Rt Revd Dr Rupert Hoare and Dr Eliza Filby.
