Coaches / Mentors (Talent Match) - two roles

BVSC

BVSC is Birmingham’s premier voluntary sector support organisation.  We work to:

Provide people with opportunities to make a positive difference to their communities,

Provide voluntary and community organisations with the resources to help them achieve their goals,

Champion the voluntary sector as an influential force for positive change.

Please see our website for more information on the work we do.

BVSC is the Lead and Accountable body for two of the Big Lottery Fund’s Fulfilling Lives programmes, Talent Match and Supporting people with multiple needs.  Talent Match seeks to support young unemployed disadvantaged people aged between 18 and 24 years. Supporting people with multiple needs will be working with service users and organisations to shape how services are delivered to vulnerable people.

Coach/Mentors are required to support the integration of young people into the Talent Match project through the provision of Coaching, Mentoring and Motivational services.  You will have experience of supporting and motivating young people and knowledge of coaching and mentoring frameworks.  Although it is not essential for the successful candidate to have a formal coaching and/or mentoring qualification, we are looking for individuals who are willing to commit to working towards and gaining a formal qualification within the first 12 months of employment.

Communications is an integral part of this process and our Communications Officer is responsible for generating content and engaging with current and potential network members in ways that helps them become more effective in their work. We are seeking a Muslim Trustee who understands the nature of FbRN's mission to enable and facilitate the active participation of faith based organisations in community development, regeneration and social action and to build their capacity to engage in civil society.

The practice of FbRN is to recruit trustees from nine faith traditions (Baha'i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Zoroastrian).  A Muslim trustee will need to be able to show an understanding of faith-based social action and have good working links with varying Muslim traditions and social action projects.
