Saltbox Christian Centre

The Saltbox is a pioneering faith-based infrastructure organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent which provides help, support and advice for faith groups.

It is actively involved in multi-agency partnership work providing a credible faith voice into various local and regional forums. It is actively involved in the wider Third Sector, ‘Safer and Stronger’ community engagement, the Local Strategic Partnership and the promotion of equalities and diversity priorities.

In 2006, the Saltbox produced a Faith Action Audit highlighting the community-based work provided by Stoke-on-Trent’s 150 individual faith groups.  In 2008, a further audit was published detailing the work of the remaining 506 faith groups in the rest of Staffordshire.

The Saltbox also oversees several projects aimed at supporting vulnerable people including Phone Link (telephone befriending service for the elderly), North Staffs Community Chaplaincy (mentoring & housing support for ex-offenders) and Money Matters (faith-based debt advice).
