Aim: To promote greater understanding of the role that mentoring and befriending can play in the new political, social and economic climate and to equip projects so that they can respond to the challenges and opportunities that this presents
 

Objectives:

■To identify where mentoring and befriending fits in to the new political, social and economic climate
■To identify how mentoring and befriending can contribute to specific policies, including the Big Society
■To focus on the tools, approaches and strategies that will help mentoring and befriending projects survive and flourish
