Kirklees FF event: Faith and The Media: Are The Tabloids Brainwashing Us?

One of Kirklees Faith Forum's Focus on Faith events, a series of seminars to give people of faith a voice in today’s big debates, to encourage dialogue between communities and develop understanding.
Every day we are bombarded with news and information from numerous media outlets, but how much do we really know? Are newspapers fuelling Islamophobia? Should more be done to stop cyber bullying on social media sites? Does freedom of speech give the media the right to share private information about its subjects?
Speeches from representatives of the local faith communities will be followed by keynote speaker Navdeep Kandola, an independent filmmaker whose documentaries and shorts have won him numerous awards.
