Focus on Faith & Gender: Is feminism too radical for modern Britain or a relic from the past? Uni of Huddersfield
15 Mar 2011 - 6:30pm
In celebration of International Women’s Month, Kirklees Faiths Forum's next Focus on Faith event will ask:
Is feminism still relevant in modern Britain? Now that laws exist to ensure women’s equality what battles have been won and which are still left to fight? For women to be equal to men should they be treated more like men? Or is gender a social construct, dictated only by cultural norms which are outdated in modern Britain? What do women, particularly women of faith, have to contribute to modern Britain, and how can modern Britain support them?
Tuesday 15th March at The University of Huddersfield, Canalside West Building at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
