The National Estate Churches Network conference features Doreen Massey, well known for her work on why our urban situations are as they are. She is one of the great thinkers in the sphere of radical social geography - feet on the ground and a passion for justice for the poor. The conference will share experiences about life, work, worship and ministry on housing estates. It includes hearing about the pitfalls and successes, and learning together about what can be done to make churches really connect with our localities and witness to Gospel truths. All denominations, lay or ordained, are welcome. The organisers indicate the title comes from housing estate ministry where "we often feel bruised but we are certainly not beaten!".The event costs £25 per person (or £20 per person if more than 1 person from a group attends) . Online booking is encouraged via http://necn2011.eventbrite.com. If you cannot book online, please send a cheque, payable to NECN, to Sue Rusholme, Ripon and Leeds Diocesan Office, St Mary's Street, Leeds LS9 7DP. Please state name (s) attending, name of your church/organisation, and any dietary or access requirements.
