CSV Make a Difference Day aims to to do just what it says. It's an opportunity for people to try out volunteering and for charities, community groups, companies, schools, universities and faith communities, to organise events, get creative, or sign up to things happening locally. Activities can be anything from creating a community community garden to teaching IT skills, renovating a homeless shelter or knitting outfits for premature babies.
CSV has free resources available, including an Action Pack, campaign resources, how-to-guides and lesson plans. Get these by registering your event email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call Freephone 0800 284 533.
Aim: To promote greater understanding of the role that mentoring and befriending can play in the new political, social and economic climate and to equip projects so that they can respond to the challenges and opportunities that this presents
The initials SMWA stand for Southwark Muslim Women's Association but don't let that put you off if your'e male! Although SMWA was originally formed to provide a safe environment for Muslim Women, that was thirty years ago, and we've come a long way since then. Boys and men are very welcome to use the centre, although women are still our main focus.
